The Voice Plant opened its doors for business in August 1976 as an alternative to the established voice recording studios in Brisbane.  The studio soon created a boutique approach to its craft, which endeared itself to the writers of the Brisbane Advertising Industry as well as post-production companies.
In the years that followed, Voice Plant gained a solid reputation as a leader in its field, winning many awards locally and nationally for the numerous radio commercials it produced. 1987 saw The Voice Plant move from the Queen Street basement, where it started, to its own purpose-built premises in Quay Street, which enabled the business to expand. The company currently has two recording suites and a dubbing/audition area with a comprehensive sound effects and music library which is constantly revised and updated.
